Air Warfare Destroyer Project (ASC/AWD) (SA)

Fast Facts:

  • We developed a tailored risk assessment safety training course for the AWD project
  • Courses run on-site at the modern Maritime Skills Centre, Techport Osborne SA
  • Exposure to International companies through their representatives and contractors coming to visit and work at ASC

Work permits and administrative controls play a big part in some safety systems where confined space entry and high risk work cannot be avoided.

ASC approached FSA to deliver a tailored risk assessment and permit to work training course in the issue and control of the work permit system that governs the construction phase of the new Australian Air Warfare destroyers. By adding in specific references to Comcare legislation, WHS regulations and local permit documentation, FSA continues to train supervisors and leading hands in the use and documentation of work permits.

We continue to build this relationship and partner with ASC for their safety training requirements.
