• Confirming the context in which AIIMS will be applied
• Determining how AIIMS is used to manage an incident
• Outlining the role and nature of an incident action plan
• Communication and collaboration skills within incident management structures
• Practical activities

On successful completion of this program, students will be awarded the following Nationally Recognised Units of Competency:

• Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course

Physical Requirements:

This course has minimal fitness requirements and is primarily delivered in a classroom environment as learning activities focus on teamwork, planning, communication and simulated scenarios.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

• Sit for extended periods during learning and assessment activities
• Participate in group discussions, briefings and scenarios that are primarily seated; some standing or movement within the room may occur and can be adjusted where required.
• Write, type, or draw incident objectives and AIIMS structures.
• Present your rationale and contribute to team-based planning tasks.

Key overall physical demands:

• Mobility – primarily in seated classroom setting; any movement requirements is minimal and can be adjusted to individual needs.
• Stamina – extended participation in group discussions, briefings, and scenario planning
• Dexterity – writing, typing, drawing control structures, handling maps
• Communication – clear verbal contributions during planning and debrief
• Tolerance – sustained focus on cognitive tasks and teamwork in a classroom/simulation setting
