Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-requisites:

Fire Warden training (PUAFER005 Operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation) is a mandatory pre-requisite.

Evidence of each participant holding the above competencies must be provided prior to entry into the course.

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • USI
  • Fitness to participate
  • Enclosed footwear
  • Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course

Physical Requirements:

This course requires moderate mobility and stamina, as well as the ability to communicate instructions confidently under simulated emergency conditions.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

  • Walk through buildings and workplaces, including climbing stairs if required
  • Stand for extended periods while coordinating evacuations or inspections
  • Bend and stoop to check emergency equipment, signage and exits
  • Wear warden identification and use communication equipment (radio, phone, alarm)
  • Direct and communicate clearly with others during simulated emergency situations

Key overall physical demands:

  • Ability to walk through facilities and potentially climb stairs
  • Standing for extended periods during inspections, scenarios, and evacuations
  • Moderate mobility (bending, stooping, opening doors, checking equipment access)
  • Verbal communication skills and ability to project voice under simulated emergency stress
  • Light manual handling of emergency equipment or PPE if required
