Contribute to Workplace Incident Response Training

• Prepare to assist with actions and activities associated with incident response
• Assist with implementing response procedures during the incident
• Contribute to collecting WHS information about the incident
• Assist with incident investigations.
• Contribute to developing and implementing recommended measures and actions arising from an incident investigation

On successful completion of this program (which includes a post-course assessment), students will be awarded the following Nationally Recognised Units of Competency:

• BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response

Pre-requisites:

N/A

FSA Entry Requirements:

• Fitness to participate
• USI that can be verified to ensure release of Statement of Attainment
• Access to computer and internet, along with appropriate business software eg: Microsoft Word and Acrobat Reader
• Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course

Physical Requirements:

This course requires a moderate level of physical strength, mobility, and stamina, particularly when participating in simulated emergency and incident response activities.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

• Move quickly and safely during simulated emergency or incident scenarios.
• Assist in the coordination of emergency response actions, including evacuation, isolation, or containment of hazards.
• Walk through work areas or simulated incident sites (which may include uneven surfaces and / or stairs).
• Observe and assess incident scenes and hazards.
• Communicate clearly and calmly with team members and emergency personnel.
• Complete written incident reports and other documentation accurately under time constraints.

Key overall physical demands:

• Mobility and stamina to participate in simulated emergency and response activities.
• Ability to bend, kneel, or move through restricted areas when responding to incidents.
• Visual and auditory awareness to identify hazards and follow emergency instructions.
• Clear verbal communication and composure under simulated pressure.
• Manual dexterity for completing incident reports and handling basic response equipment if simulated
