Note: For professionals seeking to perform a particular role (i.e. Incident Controller) within an AIIMS-based structure, additional role-specific training (and subsequent organisational approval) is required upon successful completion of this course. Authorisation to perform a role within the AIIMS structure is subject to the policies and procedures mandated by an individual’s organisation.

Physical Requirements:

This course requires a basic to moderate level of mobility, stamina, and communication skills, with most tasks focused on teamwork, planning, and applying AIIMS principles in simulated scenarios.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

• Sit for extended periods during learning and assessment activities.
• Participate in group discussions, briefings, and scenario exercises that are primarily seated; some standing or movement within the room may occur and can be adjusted where required. 
• Write, type, or draw incident objectives and AIIMS structures.
• Present your rationale and contribute to team-based planning tasks.

Key overall physical demands:

• Mobility – primarily in seated classroom setting; any movement requirement is minimal and can be adjusted to individual needs. 
• Stamina – extended participation in group discussions, briefings, and scenario planning
• Dexterity – writing, typing, drawing control structures, handling maps
• Communication – clear verbal contributions during planning and debrief
• Tolerance – sustained focus on cognitive tasks and teamwork in a classroom/simulation setting
