Our nationally accredited Warden training aligns with the requirements of Australian Standard 3745-2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities. This course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) and support the safe evacuation of occupants during workplace emergencies.

Regular Warden training helps ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities, can respond effectively to emergency situations, and supports workplaces in meeting fire safety and WHS obligations.

This course is ideal for:

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • USI
  • Fitness to participate
  • Enclosed footwear
  • Sufficient Language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course

Physical Requirements:

This course requires a moderate level of mobility and stamina, with the ability to stay calm and give clear directions under simulated emergency conditions.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

  • Walk through workplaces / building and take part in evacuation drills (may involve stairs)
  • Stand and move for extended periods during inspections and evacuations
  • Bend and check exits, doors, and emergency equipment
  • Direct and communicate clearly with people during simulated emergency situations
  • Assist, where safe and possible, with mobility-impaired occupants
  • Complete simple reporting and documentation after drills

Key overall physical demands:

  • Mobility to walk through facilities, check exits/equipment, and assist in evacuations
  • Standing and walking for extended periods during drills and inspections
  • Stooping, bending, and opening/closing doors during sweeps
  • Clear verbal communication and voice projection to direct occupants under simulated emergency stress
  • Light manual handling of emergency equipment (extinguishers, alarm points)
