Our Provide First Aid Training Course is designed to train personnel in how to respond to First Aid emergencies that may happen at home, office or anywhere in daily life. This course is taught by highly experienced emergency services instructors who have a strong background in Emergency Medical Response.

Many practical exercises are included as part of the training. This course is designed for First Aiders to manage patient / casualty care until the arrival of Emergency Services.

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-requisites:

N/A

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • USI and fitness to participate
  • The ability to perform CPR on the floor
  • Enclosed footwear
  • Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course

Physical Requirements:

This course requires a moderate to high level of physical strength, stamina, and mobility, particularly for CPR, choking response, and casualty management under simulated emergency conditions.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

  • Kneel on the floor to perform CPR on adult, child, and infant manikins for at least 2 minutes.
  • Use an AED safely during CPR scenarios.
  • Bend, stoop, and roll a casualty into the recovery position.
  • Perform back blows and chest thrusts to manage a simulated choking casualty.
  • Use an EpiPen trainer, asthma inhaler, and spacer in first aid scenarios.
  • Apply pressure, bandages, and slings to control bleeding, sprains, strains, and fractures.
  • Respond to a range of simulated incidents including burns, shock, heat/cold, bites/stings, and poisoning.
  • Complete casualty report forms and participate in verbal debriefs

Key overall physical demands:

  • Upper body strength and stamina – CPR compressions, choking response, casualty handling
  • Mobility and agility – kneeling, bending, stooping, rolling casualties, recovery position
  • Manual handling – supporting/managing casualty limbs, moving mannequins (20–30kg typical)
  • Dexterity – AED use, EpiPen trainer, inhalers, bandages, slings, dressings
  • Tolerance – kneeling for CPR, PPE, simulated stressful scenarios
  • Communication – verbal casualty handover, written reports, teamwork
