Course Content

Typically, the delivery of the course is over a 3-6 month time frame and includes:
  • Pre-classroom assignment which involves participation and completion of online AIIMS Principles course
  • 5 day intensive classroom session
    • includes guest speaker with many years of experienced in critical incident management, natural disasters, operational leadership and coordination of incident response and rescue teams.
  • Post classroom assignment to be submitted within 3 months of the completion of classroom sessions
Credit Transfer for full qualification or individual units of competency are available on request.

  • Corporate clients are required to pay the full amount as per normal payment terms.

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • Certificate III Public Safety (Firefighting); or Certificate III Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations); or Certificate III Emergency Response and Rescue
  • Current Provide Advanced First Aid certification showing the Unit of Competency: HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid (Mandatory)
  • Fitness to Participate declaration
  • USI that is provided and verifiable, along with sufficient digital, language, literacy and numeracy skills to be successful
  • Additionally, FSA requires participants to meet the AS1715-2009 requirements to be clean shaven

Evidence of each participant holding the above competencies must be provided prior to entry into the course.
