This three-day SafeWork SA approved Health and Safety Representative (HSR) training course builds on the skills and knowledge acquired in the initial 5-day course. The course offers flexible topics, allowing participants to focus on areas relevant to their workplace management structure.

Under section 72 of the SA WHS Act 2012, an employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR to attend a HSR training course that is approved by the regulator (SafeWork SA) and chosen by the HSR in consultation with their employer. Fire & Safety Australia is approved by SafeWork SA to deliver the SA HSR Initial & Refresher Training Courses.

This course is ideal for:

  • Elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) in SA
  • Deputy HSRs in SA
  • HSRs who have completed the SA Initial 5-Day course
  • HSRs in their second year of office
  • HSRs seeking to update and extend their skills
  • HSRs looking for training tailored to their workplace needs

This SafeWork SA approved Level Two Refresher Health and Safety Representative (HSR) training course enhances the skills and knowledge gained in previous training. It focuses on managing multiple WHS risks and developing effective workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Course Content

  • Duties, responsibilities, principles and practices of managing procedure development and administrative controls for multiple WHS risks
  • The responsibilities and duties of PCBU’s, officers, supervisors and contractors in the context of WHS policy and procedure development.
  • Identifying various elements of a safe system of work.
  • Participate in and contribute to developing workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Principles and practices associated with effective auditing programmes.
  • Participate in and contribute to the audit planning process.
  • Participate in and contribute to the audit process and activities.
  • Participate in and contribute to the review of audit findings and activities.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the training you will receive a Certificate of Attendance

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-requisites:

  • Evidence of Identify
  • Provide your SA HSR ID number
  • Must provide evidence of completing the SA Initial 5 day course

  • Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
