This Electrical Test and Tag training course will cover how to conduct a standard in-service safety inspection, Test and Tagging of electrical equipment in accordance with the electrical safety regulations, Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760.

You will apply your skills to a range of 3-phase/multiphase electrical equipment including:

  • Extension leads
  • Portable workshop equipment
  • Electrical portable outlet devices (EPODs)
This training is delivered and assessed by Fire and Safety Australia on behalf of Sharp Industry Training (RTO 40478), which is the issuing Registered Training Organisation awarding the certification to eligible students. 
 

Units of Competency

  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • UEERL0003 Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies

Do I need to be an electrician to complete the course?

No, this course is suitable for all employees

Will I be able to Test and Tag Equipment as a business once I complete this course?

No. If you are looking to offer Testing and Tagging as a service to others in Queensland, you will need to apply to the QLD Electrical Safety Office for a Restricted Electrical Contractors Licence, in addition to completing a Nationally Recognised Test & Tag Course. Or in other words, if you wish to Test and Tag equipment owned by anyone with a different ABN number to yours in QLD, you will need a licence from the Electrical Safety office.
