• A verifiable USI
• Fitness to participate
• Enclosed footwear
• Sufficient digital, language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course

Physical Requirements:

This course requires a basic to moderate level of mobility, dexterity, and situational awareness, with an emphasis on safety behaviours and communication near electrical hazards.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

• Wear the required PPE (helmet, gloves, boots, hi-vis, hearing/eye protection).
• Walk and stand for periods of time when working near electrical assets.
• Bend and handle light items such as cones, barricades, and signage.
• Maintain safe distances from overhead and underground electrical assets.
• Use radios and verbal signals to communicate with safety observers and work teams.
• Complete simple documentation such as risk assessments, permits, and reports.

Key overall physical demands:

• Walking and standing in outdoor work environments
• Bending/stooping to position barricades and signage
• Light manual handling – cones, barricades, tape, PPE items
• Dexterity – donning PPE, completing forms, handling radios
• Situational awareness – maintaining safe approach distances near live electrical assets
• Communication – using radios and verbal signals effectively in noisy environments
