FSA provides professional, dependable, and fully integrated Medical and Emergency Response capability for high-risk and remote operations across mining, oil, gas, renewables, and construction. Our teams seamlessly embed into our clients’ worksites and deliver rapid response, clinical care, governance, and emergency support with a proven track record of service delivery. More than 20,000 shifts per year and 22+ remote operations make FSA one of Australia’s most experienced low-risk partners for remote medical services.
We attract, develop, and retain a workforce of engaged professionals including Paramedics, ESOs, HSE Advisors, Nurses, and industrial security specialists who understand the unique demands of high-risk operations.
Our staff undergo regular competency assessments, clinical refreshers, rescue training, and skills progression supported by our FSA Training Academies. Continuous development ensures capability does not diminish over long-term FIFO contracts.
FSA is the industry leader in retaining and transitioning incumbent workforces when awarded new contracts. We maintain continuity of personnel, preserve site knowledge, and protect culture while elevating capability and compliance standards.
With long-term success in Indigenous employment and supplier partnerships, FSA actively increases representation on remote and regional contracts and supports Indigenous traineeships and employment pathways.
Our medical teams are equipped with brand-new, fit-for-purpose 4WD Ambulances and emergency vehicles designed for remote and industrial environments. We invest heavily to ensure our people have the best equipment to achieve the best outcomes.
Our Paramedics and Nurses are clinically supported by Chief Medical Advisor Dr Rob McCartney and our Medical Governance Team, ensuring clinical safety, poisons compliance, and adherence to state and national regulations.
Through our MEDISIM advanced simulation program, we rotate high-fidelity medical training through remote sites to strengthen clinical decision making and team performance, keeping skills sharp and reducing degradation over long contracts.
FSA attracts medical professionals who want to work in high-risk operations, and we maintain an active national database of engaged candidates that accelerates mobilisation and improves contract resilience.
With more than 250 staff nationally and a proven record of high compliance, high coverage, and high retention across remote FIFO contracts, FSA is a strong low-risk partner for companies who cannot compromise when it comes to workforce safety, medical capability, or operational continuity.
We invest in people, capability, equipment, and innovation because delivering Medical and Emergency Response is not an add-on for us – it is our core business.
For clients in remote locations, providing essential pre-hospital care is critical. FSA ensures this through AHPRA-registered paramedics, supported by fully equipped ambulances, well-stocked medical centres, and approved Clinical Practice Guidelines. Our paramedics are highly experienced, with many bringing military backgrounds or extensive standalone medical and emergency response expertise to your site.

Fire and Safety Australia’s medical governance is built on guidelines from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, ensuring alignment with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards. Our structure breaks down clinician services by core skills and competencies, ensuring clear, accredited practices:
This approach eliminates ambiguity in the level of care provided, ensuring confidence and clarity for our medical director and telehealth provider when granting approvals.

FSA provides a 24/7 telehealth support network to complement our on-site Paramedics and Medical Emergency Service Officers. This service aids in approvals for administering scheduled medicines and offers second opinions for complex cases. Increasingly, clients rely on telehealth for non-urgent medical consultations and return-to-work assessments. Our specialist service, accessible via a secure tablet, allows for quick appointments, usually within 15-30 minutes. Patient consent is always obtained prior to consultations, ensuring full understanding of the terms and conditions.

FSA is experienced in obtaining and managing poisons permits, ensuring ongoing compliance with clinical treatment guidelines for remote paramedics and nursing staff. Before mobilisation, we establish the necessary clinical governance to ensure our paramedics can effectively treat patients and administer medications on-site, supported by telemedicine and remote telehealth consultations.
Given the varying legislative requirements across states and territories, it’s crucial that the poisons permit owner fully understands and reflects these in the Clinical Practice Guidelines. Our 24/7 medical support line, staffed by Emergency Physicians and GPs, is ready to handle all urgent medical cases.
