Meet our Training Team-Maria Bannister- WA Trainer

Maria has worked in Safety and Education since 1991. In that time she has worked across many areas and industries including transport and logistics , mining, offshore, hospitality , justice and with youth at risk .

Maria has a Graduate Diploma in Education (Adult and Tertiary) an Advanced Diploma of OSH , Diploma of WHS , Diploma of TAE , Diploma of Auditing and is a lead auditor for Quality , OSH ,Environment and food safety management systems. Currently working on A Diploma of Counselling to enable her to assist people to deal with life and issue associated with mental health and wellbeing.

In the period of 2007 to 2015 Maria was working with the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention providing high level consultancy to Industry in regard to Occupational Health and Safety, risk management, training needs analysis , auditing for OSH, environment  and quality systems ,  preparation of systems policies and procedures.

In the last 5 years she has worked with the National Safety Council and Fire and Safety Australia to provide high level WHS training. Maria is also part of the team developing and reviewing training programs within the organisation.

Maria has a long term association with The American Industrial Hygiene Association, one of the world’s largest safety organisations, where she has been an active member of  their Committee for Continuing Education .Maria has as part of this commitment presented at conferences within Australia, USA, and Canada .

In her private life Maria has engaged in assisting addicts and alcoholics with a 24 year involvement to The Thamkrabok  Foundation , a drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation group which assists addicts and alcoholics to undertake treatment at the Thamkrabok Monastery in Thailand  .
