Training Major Client Emergency Response Training Refresher

Training Major Client Emergency Response Training Refresher

FSA continues to work with major Australian mining companies to deliver nationally recognised emergency response team training on-site. Recently FSA ran Breathing apparatus refresher training on-site for ERT members. Participants were put through their paces in realistic scenarios that prepare them for the real events they are expected to attend as part of their role as ERT members.

The realistic scenarios involved detailed planning and setup by FSA trainers who filled work areas with smoke, providing realistic and practical emergency response training. These realistic training scenarios gives ERT training course participants a good understanding of the tactics they will apply during a structure fire or search and rescue event in a potentially toxic atmosphere.

Participants attending this course will select, don, operate and maintain open circuit breathing apparatus equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere as defined by the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1715 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment, along with observing a high emphasis on safety & emergency procedures.

This training course is from the Public Safety Training Package and is designed for operators who are required to wear breathing apparatus within an emergency/rescue environment.

Regular Breathing Apparatus Refresher training courses are recommended under Australian Standard 1715-2009. The frequency of retraining will depend on the complexity of the program and the degree of the hazard, however for ERT personnel we recommend annual refresher training.
