Why Choose This Course

A non-accredited program for the health care industry designed to equip anyone who needs to undertake work as a staff member within a healthcare site. This program has been streamlined to meet the criteria and requirements set out in the NSW Health's Policy Directive for Fire Safety in Healthcare Facilities (PD2010_024), associated Australian Standards AS3745 & AS4083, as well as the WHS Act 2011 and the WHS Regulations 2017.

The program will provide candidates with the required skills to assume the role, when required, of an Emergency Coordinator (Chief Warden) as well as the Emergency Officers (Wardens) and is great for candidates who engage in after-hours roles on small sites or where staffing numbers are dramatically reduced and where an emergency response is to take place immediately.

The initial first attack firefighting response component of the course is designed to identify various types of equipment such as fire extinguisher, fire blankets  fire hose reels. This practical component will be conducted either using a live fire simulator or virtual reality training kit which has specific scenarios allocated to the medical industry.
