While many industries require heights safety training for their teams, the risk profile can vary vastly from site to site, and also from project to project.
What we’ve seen the past couple of years are more companies acquiring Elevated Work Platforms to reduce the risks associated with working at heights, as well as other cost savings benefits to the business.
In fact, we are currently upskilling a major national telecom client that has recently invested in EWP machinery.
This training covers the operation of different styles of EWPs up to 11m:
- Trailer Mounted Boom Lifts – TL
- Vertical Mast Lifts – VL
- Telescoping boom and telescoping knuckle boom – BL
- Scissor Lift – SL
- Truck Mounted Lifts – TM

While it’s become an industry norm to ask “Do you have a yellow card?”, the legislation clearly says a yellow card is not required. To operate an EWP you do require a nationally recognised unit of competency, which doesn’t include a yellow card requirement.
Based on your specific requirements, any or all of the following three nationally recognised units of competency are required and available to train your team:
- Operate elevating work platform – RIIHAN301E
- Perform EWP controlled descent escape – UETTDRRF08
- Perform EWP rescue – UETTDRRF03
(PS. Any EWP over 11m MUST do the HRWL course with unit code of TLILIC0005)
As a national organisation, we have trainers and training facilities in every state and territory to serve your specific needs.
