Emergency Response and Security Services with Santos in the Cooper Basin

Fire and Safety Australia (FSA) is excited to announce that we have been awarded a contract for Emergency Response and Security Services with Santos in the Cooper Basin for 3 years with options to extend up to 7 years in total. FSA will have a team of 20 team members across rotating rosters to ensure 24/7 coverage providing these critical services for Santos and the surrounding community in the Cooper Basin. As part of our contract, FSA is purchasing 2 x brand new Fire Appliances to complement the existing emergency response vehicle fleet and transferring an existing FSA Fire Appliance to the project.

One of FSA’s experienced emergency response managers, Dean Brown GIFireE, will be on-site as the FSA operations manager to ensure that the contract mobilises successfully and day-to-day operational management and the contract will be managed by David Spencer (Contract Manager). FSA will be transitioning many existing site-based ESOs and Communications/Security staff from a number of companies to employment at FSA, and FSA will also be transferring existing FSA team members and growing our number of team members employed to meet operational roster requirements.

FSA CEO Steve McLeod notes, ‘We are excited about working with Santos across the large area of the Cooper Basin and growing our ESO and Security team members by more than 20 staff who will FIFO ex Adelaide or ex Brisbane. FSA has previously successfully won and executed contracts across the Oil and Gas and Mining Sector, and we are excited about growing the FSA team to a national team of approximately 180 team members across Australia by mid-March 2024 as a result of this contract’.
