Our Experience With Bunnings

  • Tailored training programs to suit Bunnings’ large-scale retail environment, focusing on employee and customer safety.

Tailored Training for the Retail Industry

Bunnings operates a vast network of retail and warehouse locations across Australia, requiring comprehensive safety training for their employees to manage risks associated with large-scale operations. Fire and Safety Australia (FSA) has delivered tailored safety training to Bunnings staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle emergencies effectively while maintaining customer safety.

Comprehensive Safety Training Solutions

FSA provided a range of training programs designed specifically for the needs of Bunnings’ operations, including:

  • Fire Warden Training
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • Chief Warden Training
  • First Aid and CPR Training
  • Emergency Evacuation Procedures
  • Workplace Safety Training

Tailored Fire Safety Training for Bunnings

FSA’s partnership with Bunnings began with the development of a nationally recognised fire warden training course specifically designed for Bunnings stores across Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania. FSA met with the Bunnings safety team, reviewed their emergency management procedures, and conducted several store walk-arounds to gather firsthand information, including local Fire/EWIS systems. This allowed FSA to create a tailored training course that addressed the unique needs of each store.

The first fire warden training was delivered at a pilot program store, where we conducted fire warden training, followed by an emergency evacuation exercise. A detailed summary report was provided, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring more efficient emergency responses across all Bunnings locations.

On-Site and Flexible Training Delivery

FSA delivered training both on-site at Bunnings locations and off-site at regional training centres. On-site training allowed employees to practice emergency procedures specific to their workplace environment, while off-site training provided flexibility for workers unable to attend on-site sessions. This approach ensured comprehensive coverage across Bunnings’ workforce, regardless of location or shift schedules.

Focus on Employee and Customer Safety

With safety being a priority for both employees and customers, FSA’s training programs focused on real-world scenarios, including fire response, medical emergencies, and evacuation drills. This practical training approach ensured that staff were confident in their ability to respond to emergencies, safeguard customers, and minimise risks in their workplace.
