Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this program, students will be awarded the following Nationally Recognised Units of Competency:

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage panel

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-Requisites:

  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR (delivered as part of this program)

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • A verifiable USI
  • Enclosed footwear
  • Sufficient digital, language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
  • Provision of evidence meeting the unit of competency pre-requisites, as listed above.

Physical Requirements:

This course requires a high level of upper body strength, stamina, and dexterity, particularly for sustained CPR and casualty rescue under simulated electrical emergency conditions.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to be physically able to:

  • Kneel on the floor to perform CPR on an adult manikin for at least 2 minutes.
  • Perform CPR on an infant manikin for at least 2 minutes.
  • Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Wear PPE including helmet, gloves, protective clothing, and insulated footwear.
  • Use an insulated crook to remove a casualty and perform a simulated LV rescue.
  • Lift, drag, or carry a casualty mannequin (20–30kg).
  • Bend, stoop, and kneel when working near panels or casualties.
  • Complete simple hazard reports and incident documentation.

Key overall physical demands:

  • High physical demand during casualty rescue and CPR
  • Manual handling – mannequins (20–30kg) and LV rescue equipment
  • Upper body strength and stamina – sustained CPR compressions and casualty handling
  • Mobility and agility – kneeling, stooping, bending near LV panels and confined areas
  • Dexterity – AED operation, PPE fitting, insulated equipment handling
  • Tolerance – PPE, kneeling on hard surfaces, simulated electrical emergency stress
