ABOUT THE COURSE

In this course, you will gain the skills and knowledge needed to provide restricted pain relief as part of a first responder team under medical supervision. The course covers how to recognise when pain relief is needed, administer the medication, and manage patient care and related documentation.
 

Note that you may need a license to store and give these medications, and annual refreshers are recommended.

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-requisites:

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a mandatory pre-requisite, evidence of holding this unit must be provided prior to the course

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • USI
  • Fitness to participate
  • Site appropriate clothing and safety footwear.
  • Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
