This Queensland-specific course is designed to help you gain the knowledge and skills needed to effectively promote and ensure the health and safety of your work group. It is ideal for those who have been elected as Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and also beneficial for supervisors and managers responsible for worker safety.
Under section 72 of the QLD WHS Act 2011, an employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR to attend a HSR training course that is approved by the regulator (WorkSafe QLD) and chosen by the HSR in consultation with their employer. Fire & Safety Australia is approved by WorkSafe QLD to deliver the QLD HSR Initial & Refresher Training Courses.

QLD WHS Regulation 2011 (Section 21) as at 29 July 2024 , states that newly elected HSR's must complete the Initial training within 28 days of being elected.

Evidence of Identity (EOI)
As per the WHSQ Conditions of Approval for HSR Training Providers (Section 4:34) we are required to sight and verify Evidence of Identity (EOI) for each student on commencement of training. EOI documents must be made up of 3 matching original EOI documents. FSA is required to retain a copy on each students file.
