ABOUT THE COURSE

This course includes online learning and assessment of the required pre-requisite: UEECD0007, which is to be completed prior to the classroom session. This training provides participants with the essential skills needed to rescue a victim from a live Low Voltage (LV) panel. It ensures that participants are well-prepared to handle emergency situations safely and effectively.

  • Assessing and controlling hazards
  • Isolation procedures when necessary
  • Maintaining Safe Approach Distances (SADs)
  • Involving external emergency services
  • Practical rescue demonstrations

Course Content

  • Assess the incident scene, conduct DRSABCD
  • CPR techniques / recovery position
  • Handover to medical personnel
  • Placement and inspection of rescue equipment
  • Assessing and controlling hazards to rescuer, victim and others
  • Isolation procedures where appropriate
  • Maintaining Safe Approach Distances (SAD’s) appropriate to rescue from a live LV panel
  • Involvement of external emergency services as appropriate
  • Practical demonstration of rescuing a person
  • Removing victim / self to safe location / place of safety

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this program, participants will be awarded the following Nationally Recognised Units of Competency:

  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage panel

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-Requisites:

To be awarded the (current) Unit of Competency "UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage panel" the below pre-requisites must be obtained:

  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR (delivered as part of this course): AND
  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace (completed as a pre-course ONLINE learning and assessment)

Where the pre-requisite evidence is not obtained, FSA will issue a Certificate of Attendance.

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • A verifiable USI.
  • Access to wifi and computer/laptop, tablet or smartphone for the elearning section of this programme
  • Completion of the online e-learning module for UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • Fitness level to participate which includes the ability to perform CPR on the floor (as per Assessment Conditions)
  • Enclosed footwear
  • Sufficient digital, language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
  • Provision of evidence meeting the unit of competency pre-requisites, as listed above.
