This SafeWork SA approved HSR 5 Day Initial Training Course is designed to give Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) in South Australia the knowledge and skills needed to promote and ensure the health and safety of their work group.

Under section 72 of the SA WHS Act 2012, an employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR to attend a HSR training course that is approved by the regulator (SafeWork SA) and chosen by the HSR in consultation with their employer. Fire & Safety Australia is approved by SafeWork SA to deliver the SA HSR Initial & Refresher Training Courses.

Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Pre-requisites:

  • Evidence of Identity (EOI)
  • Supply SA HSR ID number (this is provided to elected HSRs via their workplace once they are registered with SafeWork SA as a HSR. ID number must be provided by course commencement)

FSA Entry Requirements:

  • Fitness to participate
  • Enclosed footwear
  • Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course
